Parents & Citizens

What is the P&C?

Established under the Education Act of 1999, P&C Associations are the forum for parents and guardians of children to get involved in their local school.
Our P&C exists to foster the community interest in educational matters by:

  • encouraging parents to participate in developing the school’s education policy;
  • fostering parent participation and involvement in the school;
  • being the forum for parents to discuss issues pertaining to the school and its community and for gathering opinions;
  • providing extra resources, facilities, and amenities for the benefit of students; and
  • promoting and supporting communication and cooperation within the school community

Mukinbudin DHS P&C works in direct response to the needs of our school community, in accordance with guidelines established by the West Australian Council of State School Organisations (WACCSO).

Fundraising

All funds raised benefit students and are raised in the following main ways:

  1. Container Deposit Scheme Donations. All students, parents and community are encouraged to support this through donations of containers directly to our Donation Shed located at the Shire of Mukinbudin Depot or by using Scheme ID: C10284230.
  2. DrumMuster. The P&C coordinate and inspect the collection of Australian agricultural and veterinary chemical users with a recycling pathway which benefits both the environment and the P&C!
  3. Footy Tipping. Local competition for the AFL season to raise win prizes and raise funds for the P&C.
  4. Grain Pledge. The P&C asks that farming families consider donating 1t per child in your family that attends Mukinbudin DHS annually to help in the provision of extra resources, facilities and amenities at the school through a transfer to Mukinbudin P&C GROWER NUMBER 58890195.

As well as providing funding wish list projects identified by parents, students and staff upon request, specific projects that we fundraise annually towards include:

Meetings

An Annual General Meeting is convened early in each school year to elect the office-bearers. Meeting dates are advertised in the Term Planner and School Newsletter, Connect, and on our Facebook page. Meeting minutes can be accessed by clicking below. Our P&C Committee encourages all parents to take an active involvement in the Association. As outlined in our Constitution, membership is open to parents and guardians of children attending the school and to citizens being over the age of eighteen years who are interested in the work of the Association. A person desiring to become a member may do so at any General Meeting by completing the Membership Form and payment of the membership subscription fee of $1.00 per member. Bring the form, along with the subscription fee, to the next P&C Meeting if you are interested in joining.
